Fun and Easy Holiday Game for Babies

The holidays are such a fun time of year and if you’re sharing it with a baby, it feels all the more special.  Babies are so utterly fascinating.  So full of joy, learning by the second, and the world is their blank canvas.

Babies learn through play, experiences and  exposure.  It can sometimes be hard to know what babies should be learning and when.  There are so many different concepts, sensations, and items to consider. We try to keep it simple and base our activities around themes.

It used to be that we could sign up for a class and feel comfort that our babies were getting some of what they needed but in today’s world, COVID has left with many parents having to limited access to activities for their children. Babies especially have challenges as they are not age appropriate for virtual classes.  So many of us are learning to be creative and finding resources to help inspire play at home activities.

So here is an easy way to share in the joys of the holidays and have fun playing together.  We had so much fun feeding Hungry Hungry Rudolph!  Using household items like dry pasta and marshmallows made it easier to let her play freely.  She watched me do it a few times and picked up the activity very quickly.  She was enjoying it so much that my two older boys joined in.  So we counted with the three old and did math with the 6 year old to bring it to their development level.

I hope you enjoy this free printable to make the play at your home easy and enjoyable.  Happy holidays!

Parenting can be hard enough.  But play shouldn’t be.  I’m not a child educator or have any training other than being a mom of three.  I’m learning along the way while manage the mess that is life these days.
